le nouveau film des réalisateurs de Debtocracy

Press Release

On April 26, 2012 at 20:00 let’s turn off the TV and turn to an alternative source of information. The creators of Debtocracy, a documentary viewed by millions of people around the world, present their new production, entitled CATASTROIKA, on the website www.catastroika.com
The documentary uncovers the forthcoming results of the current sell-off of the Greek public assets, demanded in order to face the country’s enormous sovereign debt. Turning to the examples of London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow and Rome, CATASTROIKA predicts what will happen, if the model imposed in these areas is imported in a country under international financial tutelage.
Slavoj Zizek, Naomi Klein, Luis Sepulveda, Ken Loach and Greg Palast talk about the austerity measures, the Greek government as well as the attack against Democracy on Europe, after the general spreading of the financial crisis. Academics and specialists like Dani Rodrik, Alex Callinicos, Ben Fine, Costas Douzinas, Dean Baker and Aditya Chakrabortty present unknown aspects of the privatization programs in Greece and abroad.
Just like Debtocracy, CATASTROIKA is co-produced by the public, which contributed both financially and with ideas to its creation. The documentary will be available free of charge, under creative commons license. High-resolution files will be available for TV and cinema broadcasts in various languages.
The journalists Aris Chatzistefanou and Katerina Kitidi are responsible for writing and directing the documentary, while Leonidas Vatikiotis undertook its scientific editing. Active Member and Ermis Georgiadis created the soundtrack of CATASTROIKA, while the editing was made by Aris Triantafyllou. Infowar Productions and Thanos Tsantas are responsible for producing the film.

We did not vote for a President in the EU called Merkel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mrs. Merkel,

Here in the Hellenic Republic, we will not hold a referendum for the euro because there's no reason to hold one. If you wish you can hold a referendum for your own country.

Dear Mr. Martin Schultz,

Just a query. You repeatedly mentioned yesterday in your talk in Athens that the Hellenic Republic will be funded from the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund. Ηοw????? Germany, Sweeden, and other EU countries asked EU to decreases their funding by 100 billion euros.

If EU really wants to help the Hellenic Republic then it has to provide us funding from the London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Dear all,

As a citizen of the Hellenic Republic, I would like to express my solidarity to the Italian citixens who suffer from these fatal earthquakes.

Keep strong.

Chères amies et Chers amis,

As a citizen of the Hellenic Re[ub;ic, I urge the EU and especially the states of the Northern Europe to send humanitarian aid to Italy in order for Italy to be able to deal with the earthquake hit city. Of course, we are ready to help the earthquake hit city.

The countries of Northern Europe can now show their solidarity towards the South, as Northern countries themselves are rarely to never hit by earthquakes as the convergence of the tectonic plates are under South and not under Northern countries. So, we pledge the countries of the North to put the hand deep in the pocket and send money to the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy. Emilia-Romagna region might be to the North of Italy but it is still south.

Merci beaucoup.
Thank you very much.
Σας ευχαριστώ πολύ.
